The Golden Compass is coming out this December. I checked out the trailer and it looks pretty cool. The web site also had a game/test to discover what animal your daemon (soul) would be.
Mine came out as Athenestia the mouse.
I'm a mouse?! How did I end up a mouse? My cats are always calling me a thumb mousie. Their reasoning be I'm just a mouse with thumbs to them. Did they know something I didn't?
Try it yourself. Movie does look fairly good. They've got actors who can act too. Should be nice.

Arkadion the lion! I'm a lion! Hear me roar. I wonder how they decide these things based on the test. Nate being a mouse and me being a lion is odd I think. Hipster the mouse makes perfect sense though. ha!
Mine is a gibbon. Her name is Artemis, which is a pretty cool name. I looked up gibbon and it's a type of lesser ape. Not quite a monkey, but not quite a greater ape.
How is it that she ended up a lion? What's Headmaster? If anyone is going to be something big and scary it's going to be him.
It might be that your daemon is more a reflection of your hidden nature. That would explain the lion and the mice. Although I doubt a 20 question quiz on a movie promo web site would be smart enough to figure that out.
Hermestra the lynx. I was hoping a wolf, but lynx is alright. I think lion fits for her. She lived with four guys for five years and most of the time she successfully bossed us around. You have to be a lion for that sort of thing.
I came out with Alvin the mouse. There has to be something more to it or less to it than we think. Nate, Jimbo, and I all coming out as mice is wrong. Rich the monkey I agree with, but the rest doesn't fit.
Headmaster the lynx is okay though. You're not going to eat me are you Adam?
