There are shootings and robberies over the new Ps3. People are buying them for $600 and selling them online for as much as $3000. Do you think that people are getting too carried away? Is the ps3 really worth $600-$3000? How much is Sony to blame for all this?

The problem is they only made I think 400,000 of the things. Our local walmart only got 16 and they weren't even supposed to get them. They're the new, fancy toy everyone wants this christmas so with such high demand Sony can charge that much and people will it or more.
As for the $600 figure, there's probably that much in hardware inside so in order to make a profit they have to charge that much.
Although shooting people over them does seem a tad excessive. I blame
the internet.
We've got some games at work. A woman the other day was telling us that some ps2 games won't work on the ps3, but then I haven't confirmed that yet.
Just stick with the ps2 for now.
And don't even think about the wii.
You'd end up breaking everything in the house while flailing your controler.
